With Style and a Little Grace: Summer Reading 2016

Summer Reading 2016

I will not lie to y'all I had high hopes for my Summer reading and looking back and seeing that I only managed to get through 5 books makes me a little sad. I really want to carve out more time to read because it is truly something that I really enjoy. My girlfriends and I have decided to start a book club so I am really excited because I am hoping that will get me started again.

Here are the books I read this Summer in order of enjoyment:

Big Little Lies - I have heard amazing things about Liane Moriarty and this book did not disappoint. I read it in one sitting and loved the way that she writes - highly recommend.

The Weekenders - I have been a fan of Mary Kay Andrews ever since one of my girlfriends gave me one of her books - we actually stayed at her house on Tybee Island for her Bachelorette - such a fun place. I read this at Bald Head Island and it was so much like the island. Loved it.

The Magicians - I loved this book and I am kind of obsessed with the series now on SyFy. If you love witches and warlocks/fantasy this is a fun read. It is a little bit darker and I will say I haven't finished the series. They kind of fizzled out for me right now.

The Gates of Evangeline - This is a bit of a thriller and a mystery. I really enjoyed it but it took me a little while to get into it.

Anderson Cooper Dispatches from the Edge - This is a very interesting book and his life is completely fascinating. It is also very sad and serious at some points and this summer I just could not get into it. I needed books that were a little lighter if that makes sense.

Let me know what you are reading so I can add them to our Book Club List. I will also do a fun review of what we read for October on here as well. I am currently reading Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight - its a mystery - shocker you know I love those.

Thank you for reading!
