With Style and a Little Grace: June 2016

On My Radar

On My Radar from Bald Head Island

Happy Monday from my family vacation! We are having such an amazing time and the weather has been gorgeous. Bald Head Island is such a magical place and truly my favorite summer getaway!

01// The Weekenders - The perfect beach read and truly feels like she wrote it about Bald Head Island - totally enjoying this summer read on the beach.

02// Game of Thrones Finale - OH MY GOSH YALL - I will not spoil this if you haven't watched but it was everything I wanted it to be and more. Now I am so sad that it is over.

03// Bald Head Blues  - we discovered this store on the island yesterday and I am loving all their southern gear. We got Henry a great visor and a new button-up - loving the logo and the frat-tastic gear.

04// Vacation Tips  - great post on vacationing if you are low on resources and time.

I am off to enjoy the beach, do a little bike riding, and just general vacationing - not a bad Monday!

Thank you for reading!

Skinny Cow : Indulgence for All

As Henry will tell you or you might already know I like my sweet treat especially if it is cold and comes from my freezer. Skinny Cow Chocolately Dipped Ice Cream Sandwiches in Vanilla Bean Dream are a game changer. They are rich vanilla wrapped in thick velvety chocolatey goodness, perfect for this hot Alabama summer heat. They come in three delicious flavors: Vanilla Bean Dream, Ultimate Chocolate and Creamy Caramel. I need the creamy caramel in my life. I have had to hide them in my freezer, because Henry is just as obsessed as I am and I keep finding all my little after dinner treats mysteriously disappearing. Where have they gone Mr. Johnston?

I brought these delicious treats to Father's Day last Sunday and the whole family was obsessed. They are really the perfect indulgence for everyone. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for the perfect treat for yourself or if you are feeling generous you can share them with your significant other - just make sure there are enough to go around! Find a store near you here.

TGIF friends and a great day to start our family vacation in my opinion. I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to a week at the beach. We leave today and are flying into Wilmington and meeting my family at Bald Head Island one of my favorite places. Hoping to rest, relax, read, re-energize, and get tons of inspiration. I definitely need it!

Thank you so much for reading.

Bald Head Island

Bald Head Island 2012 - The Summer after we got engaged - the stripes are timeless but those Ray-Bans that were my favorite seem so dated when I look back at these pics.

Bald Head Island is one of my favorite places to visit. We have been going there every summer since I was a little girl. I can remember growing up my parents would pick my cousin and I up from Camp Thunderbird in North Carolina and haul us covered in camp grime and our gigantic camp trunks to the beach for another week of fun. I look back now and those times just seem so nostalgic to me - endless summer - seriously the best feeling.

My dad's family is from North Carolina so this is where that whole side of the family comes together every summer to spend some time together.

Henry and I haven't been able to go since 2012 and we are finally able to take the time and start going back again and I could not be more excited.

Gotta love those summer days and nights,

Life is Grand

Ah Sweet Summertime - I am loving this time of year even with all the heat. I wore this look on Sunday for Father's Day and I will be honest the hat and my new Jacks have been on repeat as of late. This spot happens to be one of my favorites at The Grand Hotel because of all the wildlife. There were adorable ducks and baby ducks everywhere - I loved it.

On a random note:  Did y'all watch Game of Thrones on Sunday - OH MY GOSH it was SOOOOO GOOD. I can't believe Sunday is the season finale - I can't handle it. So many good shows this week back on my DVR: PLL, Odd Mom Out, RHOC - FINALLY!

Weekend Update

Happy Monday y'all! We had such a fun weekend - Henry fished in a fishing tournament on Saturday so we had another little weekend at The Grand Hotel with friends and it was so relaxing. We hung by the pool Saturday while the guys fished and just enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. Sunday we headed to the river to grill out for Father's Day.

We have a short week because we are heading on a family vacation to Bald Head Island and we can't wait. I am loving Summertime right now,If I could just get back on my work-out schedule.

- J.Crew Coverup similar here, Rayban Sunnies ( borrowed from Mel now convinced I need the orange), Hat, Jack Rogers Hamptons sandals

- Miami Vice by the pool

- their signature candles smell so good - this one was very Fallish

- view from our balcony

- bread pudding on Friday night for our date night at Ralph and Kacoos on the causeway

Is everyone having a great Summer? I am sorry for the lack of posts recently but I just have not been able to find the time/didn't have any blog worthy material if that makes sense? Sometimes I just try not to force it since it is something I love doing for fun.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Greek Chopped Salad Recipe

I shared this photo on my Friday Five and several people wanted to get the full recipe. It is super easy and so yummy, the perfect light Summer salad. You will want to make this for lunch all season long. You are getting so many veggies in one salad and it is so filling and generally keeps me full until dinner. Sign me up sister!

-- Greek Chopped Salad --

- spinach
- chickpeas rinsed 1/2 cup
- Handful diced tomatoes
- Diced kalamata olives
-diced red onion
-diced cucumber
-diced yellow pepper

Mix olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper, and lemon to taste and serve over your salad.

Such a yummy and refreshing salad for hot Summer days and nights!

On My Radar

Happy Monday Friends! June is flying by and it is our busiest month of the Summer. We have something every single weekend which is why I have been having such a hard time getting my posts up on time - sorry y'all! We had such a fun weekend - I had dinner/drinks with girlfriend's on Friday night then we went to see Me Before You - so good and totally worth a watch. Saturday night we went to a wedding and had so much fun catching up with everyone. With Bald Head only two weeks away here are a few things currently on my radar.

1. // Hoola Bronzer - I picked up this bronzer Saturday at Ulta and it has already made it to my holy grail list. I have heard amazing things about it for years but it really is the perfect glowy bronzer for all skin types.

2.// H&M Off the Shoulder Top - This gorgeous top is a total dupe of a more expensive version and it is only $18. Scoop it up while it is still in stock - these are my favorite type tops this Summer.

3.// The Magicians - My girlfriend Mel told me about the show adaptation of the series I am currently reading and I binge watched 4 episodes yesterday. This rarely happens but I think the show might be better than the book in this case. If you love Harry Potter, you will love this darker show.

4.// Chloe Dupes - These wedges are all over the blogosphere right now and this $150 Marc Fisher dupe of the $500 Chloe version is literally identical for a fraction of the cost. I just think these are so cute and a definite summer staple.

5.//Peter Thomas Roth Masks // I just ordered this little trio because I have been wanting to try these masks ever since Morgan Stewart let everyone know her mask routine on her blog - yes I am a blog stalker. I have heard they are amazing but at the $59 price tag hard to justify. This little trio is only $20 and you get to try three of their most popular masks.

6.//Hit the Beach Pouch - The most adorable little clear pouch for your beach bag to store your phone, credit cards, gloss, and other necessities.

What is on your radar? As always, thank you so much for reading!  Did y'all watch GOT last night? Oh Aria Stark - your seriously my fave!

Friday Five

- A few new goodies for our trip to Bald Head Island in a few weeks - I got the new hat during the Nordstrom sale, bikini is an old fave, and the Jack Rogers were an Anniversary gift from Henry.

- New Summer Salad Obsession - Chopped Greek Salad - full recipe on the blog this weekend!

- I have recently found a few snack favorites that I keep forgetting to mention and you definitely need to know about them. This Pecan Cashew Crisp is basically like Christmas in your mouth and Henry and I can't get enough. We get this one from Costco, I am not sure who else carries it. So Yummy!

- These chocolate covered craisins are the perfect snack to curb my sweet craving - the only problem is I can't stop eating them.

- Gorgeous Anniversary flowers from Henry delivered to work - love him.

How was y'alls week? I am looking forward to a fun girls night out tonight - dinner and then we are going to see Me Before You - sobfest. I loved the book. Then Saturday we have a wedding and are looking forward to catching up with friends we haven't seen in awhile.

Thank you so much for reading and have a great Friday - TGIF!

White Out

It's getting hotter and hotter outside and I am gravitating towards all white outfits more and more. There is something about them that just screams Summertime to me. I am still living in these espadrilles and I can't say enough good things about this brand - newly obsessed and want them in every single color. Love them.

Did y'all watch Southern Charm on Monday? I can't wait for next weeks episode - oh the drama. Also I might have started following all the cast members on Twitter #stalker. Henry and I love watching it - I mean it's the best train wreck ever. I have quit watching basically everything else beside Outlander and GOT. Any suggestions on what I need to be watching - I'm not into Real Housewives of Dallas - I just can't with them.

Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

Happy Monday y'all! We spent our weekend having a little early Anniversary celebration since our three year anniversary is on Wednesday. We went to sushi on Saturday night and rented Bad Grandpa - which is one of the funniest movies I have seen in some time and I highly recommend you watch it. On Sunday we worked around the house and had a nice little blueberry pancake brunch.

I talked about wanting to try out some Pinterest recipes in my 101 in 1001 days post here and this buffalo cauliflower recipe has been on my radar  - I feel like at one point everyone was talking about it. So I finally made it this weekend and it was so good. The cauliflower is nice and spicy and has a little crunch to it like a buffalo wing. This is such a yummy and healthy alternative. I highly recommend trying it out - I used this recipe here.  These aren't quite as crispy as some of the other recipes I saw but they are definitely the healthiest option and I am loving them as a snack.

Happy Monday and as always thank you so much for reading!

On My Radar

ON MY RADAR

Happy Saturday Friends! I haven't done a monthly favorites in a hot minute because really I haven't purchased many new items but in the last two weeks I have acquired a few new must have items that I wanted to talk to y'all about. Also, I am currently cozy at home while it rains watching season one of RHONY and I am remembering how good it is.

1. // Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peels -  My bestie Darcy brought these to our girls beach trip last weekend and they are too good. They leave your skin feeling soft and fresh. Amazing for anti-aging.

2. // Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask  - Oh this mask - go out and buy it ASAP. It smells like a tropical vacation and made my skin feel so great after being out in the sun for a few days.

3.// Briogeo Hair Repair Mask - Darcy also brought this mask and I am thinking I need to order the full size version. My hair was super dry from the sun and this left it feeling smooth and silky. It also smells AMAZING.

4.// Garden and Gun Summer Issue - I haven't enjoyed my last few Garden and Guns but I am loving the Summer Road Trip issue. I always love their travel/food suggestions and the photography is beautiful in this issue.

5.// The Magicians Series  - Loving this series. It is a combo of Harry Potter and Narnia but even a bit darker. I am about halfway through the first one and I can't put it down.

So there is my mini beginning of June favorites - what are you loving? Thank you so much for reading!

Summer Edit: Currently On My Radar

Sandals | White Dress | Wide Brim Hat ( 40% off just ordered it ) | Bikini | Earrings | Benetint | Nars Concealer | Pom Pom Sandals ( Under $100 ) | Lobster Pillow ( From Target and under $20 ) | Pajamas

Classic, American Style - basically my theme for Summer 2016. Everything in this edit rounds up all of my current faves in beauty, fashion, and home decor that I feel like I most definitely need in my life. Play a little John Mellencamp, specifically this jam whilst shopping for these goodies and you will be on my wavelength.  I told my girlfriends on our beach trip - I really wish you could bottle up how you felt when your Summer's were completely free and open to basically spend all your time outdoors or on the water - anyone else? It's hard to have that feeling when you are always thinking ahead to what you have to do next. Or is it just harder the older you get - I hope not! Or maybe like I hope for the holidays you get that magic back a little bit when you have kids - anyone know what I mean?

I ordered this wide brim hat - I mean it is under $14 right now and I have been looking for one just like it - so why not. Target is killing it with their pillows/home decor or really most of the time they have great items for an even better price point to jazz up your home.

What are your favorite items? I want them all! Too cute!

Thank you so much for reading!

White Off The Shoulder + Versona Giveaway Winner

Hi Friends - this week is flying by and I can't complain about it at all! I seriously cannot believe it is already June! I have been planning all my June content and I am hoping I can start doing monthly faves again at the end of the month. I honestly haven't done one in awhile because I haven't really purchased anything new to my routine - I have been super boring, but I am starting to have some new faves and I might even do a new video - crazy right!

I purchased this adorable little ASOS dress for my girls beach trip and I actually ended up wearing it as a cover-up/day dress. It is a little too short for me to wear with heels but perfect for a Summer day with fun flats.

The winner of the Versona Giveaway is Megan - atthisvolume_x@hotmail.com - I will e-mail you to get your address.

Thanks to my bestie Lara for taking my photos at the beach.

Hope y'all have a great Thursday - thank you so much for reading!
