With Style and a Little Grace: Feeling like a Scrooge? 10 sure fire ways to feel festive

Feeling like a Scrooge? 10 sure fire ways to feel festive

We are home for the remainder of the Christmas Holidays and with tons of fun festivites packed into the next 10 days I am feeling quite merry and bright. However, if some of you out there just haven't quite gotten into the Christmas spirit yet this list will definitely get you feeling the Christmas vibes - and even if you are totally feeling them this list will just make it even more fun.

I got the idea for this post from one of my favorite bloggers The College Prepster who did her own version here. Check it out for even more amazing Christmas spirit! Tis the season and check out my must listen to Christmas playlist here.

10 WAYS TO FEEL FESTIVE

1.) Plan a fun night with friends to see the big Christmas Light displays in your town - if you live in Mobile you have to go see the lights at Bellingrath Gardens and there are some fun drive through lights at Bay Bear Stadium. Make sure to have hot cocoa and listen to holiday tunes.

2.) Have a cozy night in and put on your favorite Christmas movie - my personal faves are The Santa Claus, Christmas Vacation, Home Alone and Elf  - make hot cocoa, wear Christmas PJS, and make sure you watch the movie in the room with your beautiful Christmas tree.

3.) Go Christmas Shopping for the kids in your life and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Holiday crowd and the excitement all around - My dad loves doing this on the day before Christmas Eve and says it is his way to get into the spirit.

4.) See The Nutcracker at your local theatre. I have been trying to do this with Henry for three years and unfortunately the play always falls when we are in Virginia for family Christmas. I really hope we can manage it next year - definitely on my 2016 Christmas List.

5.) Watch It's a Wonderful Life with a glass of Egg Nog and some tissues. This movie just gets me and I watch it every year and I cry every single year. It's just so good.

6.) Have a little clean out before your Christmas gifts come and donate them to your local shelter - Penelope House here in Mobile is an amazing organization to donate to and they are always looking for Christmas gifts this time of year for the families there.

7.) Go Ice Skating - WE HAVE ICE SKATING IN MOBILE THIS YEAR!!!!! I am currently trying to drag Henry to do this with me.

8.) Make some crafty treats for your neighbors - these little jars are adorable and they can bake the goodies for themselves - such a cute idea.

9.) Bake anything festive with a friend and listen to Christmas tunes or watch a Christmas movie while you do it. Then eat your goodies with some apple cider.

10.) Light a Christmas candle and read a little bit of Dickens A Christmas Carol - love trying to read it every year.

Thank y'all so much for reading and let me know if there are more fun and easy activities to really get you in the holiday spirit!

    1. Thanks Kelsey! I know I love it so much - if it would just get a little cooler in Mobile I would be in full speed Christmas mode! XO, Gracie
