With Style and a Little Grace: September 2015

My Bag Collection Fall/Winter

I loved doing the post on my Autumn/Winter shoe collection a few weeks ago and thought it would be fun to do a little round-up of my bags. Like I said with my shoes I am slowly curating a closet/wardrobe of staples and items that I hope will last for a long time to come. This definitely does not happen overnight and I truly do think bags are one of those staples that you should really invest in. A great bag will last for years and years and only increase in value - which is what I keep telling my husband when I want to buy a new one ;)

My bag collection is definitely small but I have whittled it down to only items I use and love and I can now evaluate what I really want/need to add.
Here is my current collection

Zara Tote Bag  - Zara is my go-to for affordable well made options that will last. They have the best quality shoes and bags at amazing prices. I love this sturdy tote and it is gigantic enough to lug around everything I could possibly need on any given day - a great everyday tote.

Longchamp Le Pliage Tote  - I had so many friends who had this bag in college and I wanted it so badly. It was one of the first gifts Henry gave me. I love the classic and preppy style of it and the fabric is so durable - you can literally turn it inside out and wash it. It's a great casual tote - I really want the large version next.

Louis Vuitton Never Full Damier Azur - The Louis Vuitton Never Full is officially my favorite tote right now. I can fit everything I need for every single day and have been carrying this bag on the daily. There is room for way too many items and I love that I have everything I need with me and the structure of the bag never changes.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. - The perfect cross-body and I want to buy it in every single color. This bag is great for a day of shopping or a date-night out. Those times when you don't need your entire life - just your cards, phone, keys, and some lipgloss.

Black Cross Body - I have no clue who this little bag is by, I found it at DSW about 4 years ago and at that time I was in desperate need of a black bag and still am. This one is really cute and can be changed into a clutch.

Forever 21 Brown Clutch - Probably the oldest bag in my collection I have had this one since my early college days - I did a major clean-out of all my SUPER OLD bags a few years ago but this one remained a staple. Until I replace it with something a bit fancier she will stay because you will always need a little brown clutch.

Tory Burch Logo Clutch - This gold beauty is perfect for a fancy night on the town and I can't wait to break it out for the Holiday season - it was a gift from Henry. I feel like clutches can really add a little something extra to any look.

Forever 21 snakeskin bag - I take that back about the brown clutch because I am pretty sure I bought this one with it. I think at that time I had ZERO bags and was in desperate need. This one has probably saved me the most over the years - blending in with pretty much every outfit and looking much fancier than her F21 price tag.

What are your favorite bags in your collection?

My ultimates to eventually have include this clutch, this tote, and this cross-body

A Candle with a Cause

This gal loves a good candle so obviously I was so excited to try out a candle that supported a great cause. The fabulous Ruby Blue Boutique here in Mobile just started carrying Bridgewater Candle Company and besides being gorgeous and smelling amazing - every candle purchased feeds a child for a day. That's reason enough to stock up on them. Bridgewater partners with different orphanages in developing countries and I just think this is such a wonderful cause. If your going to be buying a candle - why not help feed a child in the process!

I went with the scent Sweet Grace - because of the name and it smells SO GOOD! The scent is a mix of patchouli, tea, and passion fruit. These candles burn so clean and quickly filled up my house with the gorgeous scent.

So far they have provided over 4 million meals - how amazing is that! Can you imagine not knowing where your next meal is coming from? I think this is such an amazing cause y'all - be sure to check them out! You can buy them locally at Ruby Blue Boutique or shop all the candles on their site.

Happy Tuesday! Thank y'all for reading and be sure to check them out!

Pumpkin Spice Cookies with Cream Cheese Icing

It's time for PUMPKIN EVERYTHING ain't no shame in my game! I found this recipe via Pinterest and y'all need to make it asap. It is the perfect amount of pumpkin, vanilla, and cinnamon. The pumpkin doesn't overpower and even my pumpkin hating husband loved them. Plus homemade cream cheese frosting is insanely good - my whole house smelled like pumpkin and isn't that reason enough to make them?

Have you started making any Autumnal recipes? Let me know what your favorites are!

Thank y'all so much for reading!

Fall y'all!

It has been a torrential downpour here for the last 24 hours - we officially have a leak in our ceiling which is never fun but the rain did bring the cooler weather and for that I am extremely grateful! It allows me to bring out some of my Fall favorites and even though it is not quite as cool as I would like - we are well on our way.

I am all about the classics and the older I got the less I stray away from them - anyone else? A great plaid blanket scarf and hunter boots are some of my fall staples - what are you in love with this season?

I am also totally obsessed with these Karen Walker sunnies and feel like they are the perfect tortoise cat-eye for my face. On a random note did y'all watch Quantico and Blood & Oil last night? They are SOOOO good - my new favorite shows on so far this season!

Happy Monday Loves!

New Pajamas

Happy Saturday y'all! I said in this blog post that I wanted to buy some super cute new pajamas and I purchased this adorable shorts set this week. It is the SOFTEST pair of pjs I have ever owned. I bought the set in the black version and it is just so adorable. There is something I love about a pulled together look when I sleep - that might be strange but I just loving having beautiful/cute pieces to sleep in. Anyone else?

What are y'all doing this weekend? Thank you for reading!

Happy Friday y'all! I hope your off to have an amazing weekend. I have a date with my DVR Sunday to catch up on all the Fall TV I haven't watched yet. What are you loving from the new shows? I am excited to see Quantico on Sunday - anybody else?

White Peplum

Happy Friday Friends! I am so looking forward to the weekend but it is going to be jam-packed! I have Mobile Fashion Week Friday and Saturday night and then we plan on doing somethings around the house on Sunday. What are y'alls plans?

I purchased this peplum top from J.Crew recently and it is my absolute new favorite white top. The material is kind of a scuba type and I just love the fit. It is so classic but also looks so fun with distressed denim.

Fall Reading List

A new season is here and with it I always like to take the time and evaluate my goals for the year - I mean only 4 1/2 months left in 2015! It's so crazy how quickly time flies and I have so many things that I want to accomplish. Fall always seems like a great time to kind of re-organize and declutter your life - it's always the perfect time to buy new pens and paper products and really feel ready to tackle the last 4 months of the year and get the most out of them.

I made a goal this year to read at least one book a month and 10 years ago I could have knocked out 3 times that but there is never enough time in the day anymore. I was able to read almost everything on my Spring/Summer reading list and really enjoyed the books I read. Here are the books I really want to read before the new year - have you read any of these? Which ones do you recommend?

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up  - I have heard this book is kind of hard core in her way of thinking about cleaning but that there are some great points about staying organized.

I still want to read Not That Kind of Girl and Allegiant from my Summer Reading List - what are you currently really loving to read? I want something I can't put down!

Mobile Fashion Week starts tonight and I am so excited! I am helping style some looks and it is going to be so much fun! I also have tons of Fall television to catch up on - what shows are y'all loving so far? I liked Scream Queens - it's a little weird but other than that I felt like most of the new show were kind of meeeh? Anyone else? I always give them two weeks and then I axe the ones I am not going to watch. Loved the premieres of Modern Family and Blackish last night!

Thank you so much for reading!

Rainy Day Favorites

A lot of people are not aware that Mobile, Alabama is actually the rainiest city in the United States. I happen to love a good rainy day and my husband was reminding me yesterday that I need a new rain jacket, which is a definite necessity but not always the most fun thing to shop for. If I think about it - these type of easy outfits are really something I should be investing in since they are generally the ones I spend the most time in. What are your go-to pieces for dreary days?
Some of my favorite rainy day gear
What is your go-to rainy day gear? Honestly I am just looking forward to rainy days curled up with a cup of tea and a great book! My Fall Reading List is coming later today! What are you currently reading?
