With Style and a Little Grace: July 2015

Coffee and Cinnamon Body Scrub

If you have been around WSLG for a little while then you know a good spa night ranks pretty high on my list of favorite pampering activities ( top 3) . If I am investing in products the first thing I will splurge on is skincare - you can't undo that damage ladies. Luckily all of the products for this fabulous scrub are probably already in your kitchen cupboard.

I have always loved experimenting with different homemade masks for hair/face and exfoliators. So when I saw this recipe for coffee and cinnamon scrub I knew that I had to try it out. Just mix all of your ingredients and store in a resealable jar. This grainy exfoliator smells amazing and is supposed to diminish the appearance of cellulite, tighten and tone the skin, exfoliate, and leave your skin feeling like a baby's bottom. Coffee is a natural antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory - it's a win-win.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 Cup Coffee Grounds

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/3 Cup Olive Oil

2 TBSP Cinnamon

Mix and store in resealable jar

What is your favorite homemade scrub? This one is definitely my favorite right now!

Dinner on the Bay

Last night some of my family was in town on their way to the beach so Henry and I got to have dinner with them at one of our favorite seafood restaurants on the causeway. We snapped a few pics before dinner and watched the sunset afterwards, I was in awe of the beautiful place that we get to call home. I had such a hard time adjusting to the none change of seasons when I moved to Mobile some 5 years ago but on days like this I realize how spoiled I have become. The most beautiful views and fresh seafood on the daily.

Coming back from vacation to my beautiful town is a wonderful feeling! This top has been one of my favorites for years and these target jeans are so comfortable! Perfect for a little date night!

Happy Thursday loves, it's almost the weekend!

On my Radar

Currently trying to get back into my normal weekly groove and here are the things on my radar.

1. Drinking Smoothie King detox smoothies and iced coffee at home. Recipe coming Thursday - so simple and yummy.

2. Back to running this week and would love any advice you have on shin splints. They are killing me. I feel like if I had Khloe's closet I would have so much more motivation to work-out.

4. Of course I love these timeless southern baby names

5. Ashley Brooke Designs is offering 15% off your purchase right now and I need this notepad in my life.

6. Chipotle guacamole at home - yes please!

What's on your radar? Thank y'all so much for reading!

Bahamas Recap

Hi Guys I'm Back!!!! We had such a fun little trip but I have to say I am worn out. I need a vacation from my vacation. I have to admit I was a terrible blogger while I was gone - I really needed a little time to unplug and just get away so I turned my phone off and honestly took hardly any pictures the whole trip. Sometimes that is just what you need.

We did the Carnival cruise to The Bahamas which is a total steal of a trip. The food was great and the service. I am not going to lie I started to feel a little claustrophobic towards the end of the trip but I think it's just because the boat was rocking so much on our last night. We are slowly ticking off the Caribbean on our travel bucket list, we have both been to the Bahamas once before but wanted to do it together. The water is just gorgeous, crystal clear. If we decide to go there again I would probably like to do a resort, just so I could see a little bit more of their beaches. We had such a blast with our friends and I am so sad our trip is over. Now I can't eat again for a week.

Gorgeous view of Nassau
Cute little towel animals every night before bed

Dinner the second night - loving my Rocksbox necklace

Molten lava cake that my girlfriend and I got every single night

The whole crew

* please excuse the grainy iphone snaps

We had so much fun with our friends I am already planning our next group vacation!

Hope y'all are having a great week and thank you so much for reading!

Delilah - Love Someone Tonight

To my dismay, when I moved in with Henry we did not have a cable outlet for a television in our kitchen, a luxury I had grown up accustomed to - I know I was spoiled. We still do not have one so every night when I come home from work and start to make dinner I turn on my little radio that has a home on our kitchen counter and the sounds of 99.9 easy FM and Delilahs smoky voice fill the room.

Growing up, if my mom and I were road tripping and it was night time you bet we were listening to Delilah.

I know that at some point every single one of you has listened to her - she is like the wacky Aunt that tells it like it is even when your not ready to hear it. I love LOVE listening to her advice, but more so I live for the songs she picks for each person because they are always PERFECT. The perfect ballad for the heart broken teen dealing with their first tragic break up and a slow love song for the sweet couple celebrating 25 years of wedded bliss. Sometimes it gives me a good laugh at the absurdity of the person who called - do they really think that - oh yeah Delilah is going to tell them haha!

No matter what your heart ache Delilah always has the perfect sage advice and a song that speaks to your heart. She is one of the reasons I still love radio and all the mystery it has to offer. So now at night I don't miss the TV so much, I listen to the stories of all those folks over the radio and sing along/make my husband dance with me to embarrassingly cheesy slow jams.

Navy Linen Skirt

Happy Happy Tuesday! It's so hot outside y'all - there is no point in fixing my hair - between the rain and the humidity it becomes a ball of frizz in 2.5 seconds. I am however in love with my new J.Crew factory linen skirt and will be purchasing it in every single color. The perfect basic skirt for the Summer and into the Fall. I think it will be so cute with tights and a plaid shirt plus vest and booties. Yes, I know I am dreaming of cool weather in July so sue me. One day until vacation!

What are you wearing in this heat? Thank you for reading!!

Summer Beauty Routine

image via pinterest

In the summertime my makeup routine is minimal, if any and I love it that way. I like to get a bit of a tan and really just love a natural glowing look. I think skincare is so important so I really try to keep my skin looking as healthy as possible and that also means less need for makeup - hopefully. Give me a bronzer and a little highlight and I am ready to go. Here is what I am currently using on the daily and everything that I will be taking on our cruise.

Alpine Blue

Happy Sunday Loves! I wore this look Saturday to run a bunch of errands. Top last seen here.  I am loving this color in my new j.crew shorts. They are my favorite shorts to live in and this pair is no exception. I hope y'all had an amazing weekend - we are gearing up for a short week and then off to vacation on Wednesday - I can't wait. Bahamas here we come! In serious need of some vacation time.

Heat Wave

TGIF!
It is 1000 degrees outside - ok I am exaggerating but it has been in the 100s and so AWFUL. It has been so hard for me to get any decent pictures in this heat, the constant sweat is not super attractive. To be honest I don't even want to be outside when it is this steamy out. Oh well on to the next.

I love the simplicity of a white collar shirt tied at the waist with some cute shorts for a fun date night look. It is such a classic look that never goes out of style - which is always one of my favorites. I hope y'all have an amazing weekend and make sure you shop the Nordstrom sale that opens to everyone today. Check out my top picks here and here.

Friday Five coming later today - thank y'all so much for reading!
