With Style and a Little Grace: Summer Beach Reads

Summer Beach Reads

Summer is here y'all and in keeping with my books theme this week (  my top coffee table books here ) I thought I would bring you my top summer beach reads. A great summer read should be a fun, easy read in my opinion. A light-hearted book set in the summer season is usually my go-to or a great teen fiction fantasy book will always do the trick for this girl too. Here are some of my past favorites and I have linked the ones that live on my Kindle.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - I love loved this teen series. The story is  about Rose a Dhamphir ( half human ) who is a bodyguard for her bestie Lissa a vampire moroi princess. Its got romance, private school drama, and nasty mean strigoi vampires. So fun!

Savannah Breeze by Mary Kay Andrews - One of my girlfriends loves Mary Kay Andrews and got me hooked on her books. We actually stayed at her house on Tybee Island for her bachelorette and it was so much fun. All of her books are great beach reads but this one is probably my favorite. Bebe is a southern belle socialite who was swindled out of all her money by a very naughty con-man. The only thing she has left is an old run down hotel on Tybee island. Of course there is a new handsome man and lots of fun hijinx.

4 Blondes by Candace Bushnell - If you love Sex and the City you will love this book. 4 best friends in New York city - lots of men and entertainment.

Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella - She is one of the queens of beach reads and if you haven't read this classic you need to. Becky Bloomwood the shopaholic who gets a job with a finance magazine and meets a lovely man. Love, shopping, and lots of credit card debt!

The Beach House by Mary Alice Monroe - I loved this book! After losing her fancy job Cara Rutledge comes home to her southern roots. She has a very tumultuous relationship with her mother and it is such a wonderful story or family and reconnection. There is also of course romance.

The Last Girls by Lee Smith - Girls in 1965 take a raft down the Mississippi inspired by Huck Finn and 35 years later 4 of the ladies reunite to take the cruise again this time on a luxury steamer to spread their friends ashes. I love this story of women and friendship.

Other Favorites on my kindle

Barefoot by Elin Hildebrand - anything by Elin Hilderbrand is a great beach read but Barefoot is one of my faves. 3 friends get together on Nantucket for the summer and they are all going through different things in their life. The escape is just what they need. A fab beach read full of friendship and romance set in a gorgeous summer scene.

Same Sweet Girls by Cassandra King  - Southern best friends who have been holding their annual reunion since college. They get together on Dauphin island every single year. They are spread out throughout the south and are all going through major life changes. It shows their friendships past and present and what they have gone through together. So good.

What are your favorite beach reads? I would absolutely love to know so I can read them this summer!
