With Style and a Little Grace: DIY - Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey Face-mask

DIY - Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey Face-mask

Growing up one of my favorite things to do was have spa nights. At the ripe age of 12 I had bins (upon bins) filled with magazines and my favorite thing to do (besides making amazing mood boards) was rip out all the beauty/fashion tips and trends I wanted to try. This was long before the days of Pinterest. I would then tote them with me in binders to friends houses so we could try them at spend the night parties. I was relentless.

When they came to my house my dad would always provide us snacks and we would begin concocting my latest DIY face-mask, hair-mask, or homemade soap -there was a fire incident with that one. My love affair with spa nights is still going on and I am always looking to try a new at home remedy that will make my skin ageless and my hair shine like the sun ;)

I have used this oatmeal, milk, and honey mask several times over the years and it never disappoints. I find it is the perfect mask to moisturize your skin during the harsh winter months.  The honey will help your skin retain moisture and it is also said to help reduce early signs of aging. It tightens up on your skin nicely and when you rinse it off your skin feels so smooth and moisturized. My pores are always noticeably smaller the next day.

* Add water if consistency is too thick

Mix ingredients together and rub all over face. Lay back and let it harden. After 15 minutes rinse off. Make yourself a cup of tea and read a good book while enjoying!

You can also change this recipe by cooking the ingredients letting them cool and then putting them on your face. I like both options but I feel like I get a little more exfoliation with the dry oatmeal.
