With Style and a Little Grace: November 2014

November Favorites

The month of November zoomed by and I am so excited to start December, the most wonderful time of the year. Carols, cookies, and Christmas oh my! We had an amazing Thanksgiving and I plan on savoring and soaking in every little bit of this coming month. We have several trips to see family planned and I just can't wait. Lots of fun opportunities coming to this little blog, heres to really blowing out 2014 with a bang y'all!

Here are my favorites from the month of November and maybe a few repeat faves from last month!

Coco Mademoiselle Chanel Eau De Parfum - My favorite perfume during my high-school / early college years. I picked up this bottle at duty free on our way back from Puerto Rico in the summer and have really just now starting using it again. I forgot how much I absolutely love this scent. A little goes a long way but the smell is amazing, elegant but sexy.

MAC lipstick in creme cup  - The only perfect pink nude you need in your arsenal, this one is becoming holy grail status for me. An everyday essential.

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation - in 820 Ivory. This is my new favorite drugstore foundation, close second to my Rimmel favorite. The consistency is thin and goes on very smooth. It is a lighter coverage.

Loreal Paris Voluminous Manga mascara - I took this pic about a week ago before I bought this mascara and I have to say I am loving it. It really maximizes your lashes and really does add volume.

Originis Cleanser - Cheeks and Balances - This cleanser has been on my list to try for several months and I am so glad I purchased it. This cleanser smells so minty and fresh and you only need a tiny bit. It goes on so smoothly and froths up really easily. Your skin feels so balanced after you wash but not too squeaky or uncomfortable.

Nicole Selena Gomez Polish in Inner Sparkle ( LAST SEASON ) - The perfect sparkle to start the Christmas season.

Nordstrom Statement Necklace - SOLD OUT similar version here - I love the pop of pink and the chunkiness of this necklace. Perfect bling to add to any outfit.

Bath and Body Works Sweater Weather - I am not going to lie, I wasn't sold on this one at first. My leaves candle ran out and they had already stopped selling it in stores ( reminder to stock up next year) so I started burning this one which was my other fall scent I picked up. It is a mix of juniper berry, eucalyptus and sage and almost has a cologne scent. It is musky and it really grew on me.

Blanket Scarf - The most perfect blanket scarf that I snagged on E-bay and have been wearing for two months straight. Do yourself a favor and buy it ASAP. IT is like eight dollars y'all!

The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part one - The best one by far in the series, it was so good. I read all the books and I think they did such a fantastic job, even Henry likes them.

Interstellar - My mind was blown y'all best movie in years! GO SEE IT!

Shadow of Night  - This book is so good but I haven't had time to finish it. I am hoping to get it finished this week to start a new one soon. Any good recommendations?

Taylor Swift 1989 - The entire album non-stop on REPEAT it is so good y'all!!! EVERY SINGLE SONG IS GOOD, literally!

What are you loving in November?

Lets Chat: AMA's Edition

Did y'all catch the AMA's last night? What did you think? I loved the performances by Sam Smith, T-Swift, Selena Gomez, and especially the song from Nicki Minaj. I felt like it was a different side to her. Side note, I hated the green number T-Swift was wearing, not good. What did y'all think? Not really any amazing outfits. I loved the dress Selena performed in, not so much the black one she came in.

It is insane how gorgeous Kate Beckinsale is, I love her! She is my fitness role-model!

J. Lo looks AMAZING, her body is INSANE. Enough said.

I weirdly really liked this look on Kendall. Am I crazy?

Is it just me or are they morphing into twins? I loathe this green dress with the nude pieces, she could have done so much better.

Did y'all watch? Any favorite moments? Is it just me or do you find yourself downloading a bunch of songs during these shows?

Happy Friday y'all and what a great one because next week is a short week and then it is the Thanksgiving Holiday! I am so so so excited. I am planning to make several fun snacks this weekend and some fun Holiday recipes will be landing on a blog near you soon. Is anyone going to see Hunger Games tonight? Henry and I are going to go next week maybe it won't be too crazy packed.

This amazing Lauren Conrad guide on Who What Wear where she looks insanely gorgeous. I had already planned to chop my hair in January and I am thinking her length is what I want to do. The only difference is I may be going with a full bang....we shall see.

If you havent you must watch the Cinderella trailer ( I CAN"T WAIT) and the Pitch Perfect 2 trailer (PERFECTION). Can't wait to see both of these.

I can't get enough of Nordstrom's Gift Guide it's so good y'all!

I am leaning towards making these classic Deviled Eggs for Thanksgiving.

I am OBSESSED with this Bauble Bar bracelet and I am convinced it will help my arm party game, which needs a little love.

10 fun games to play on Thanksgiving.

This video from Bobbi Brown on how to correct & conceal was an eye-opener ( literally)

Thanksgiving Outfits: Dressy and Casual

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Thanksgiving is next week ladies: pumpkin pie, turkey, gravy, the parade, the beginning of Christmas, not to mention dressing ( not to be confused with stuffing)..... so many good things, I am getting so excited.

The older I get the more I realize that if you want an outfit to be great or the things you pack to match you must always plan ahead, this should go in my book ( the things I learned in my late twenties). It takes a little bit more forethought but saves so much regret later.

So I try to plan ahead especially for special events. I have put together two outfits that would be perfect whether you have a dressy Thanksgiving dinner or a more low-key affair. Either way you will be sure to look fabulous in all the family photos. Just make sure they are stretchy enough for that second helping ;)

Outfit #1 Dressy Thanksgiving - ASOS DRESS//Kate Spade New York Pumps (  ON SALE) //Sparkle Tights // NARS Audacious Lipstick

Outfit #2 Casual Thanksgiving - ASOS Scarf // J.Crew Top // Rag & Bone Jeans // Rag & Bone Newbury Booties // Clare V. Clutch // Tory Burch Studs

Healthy Holidays // Honey Nut Cheerios and Usher

I don't know about y'all, but sometimes I have a hard time getting going in the mornings. I love to start my day with coffee and something healthy to get my metabolism going. I have been especially conscience of this with the Holidays approaching and with them, all the tasty treats and goodies that aren't necessarily great for your waist-line. Somedays I am better than others and I have really been trying to get Henry on board because he is really terrible about eating in the morning.

Henry can sometimes be a little picky and he has a tendency to turn his nose up at some of my "healthier options" but the man does love his cereal so I was so excited when he told me how much he loved one of my favorites Honey Nut Cheerios. We have been incorporating them into our morning routine and sometimes even for a little snack around mid-afternoon. We are both loving it and the pick me up that comes after.

I like to listen to some of my favorite jams in the morning  ( right now a little Christmas) to get ready for the day and Honey Nut Cheerios is offering an exclusive Usher song right now in their cereal boxes. This song is only available through Cheerios. It is not even included on his new album release, which I think is pretty cool.

This promotion is exclusive to Wal-Mart and will run through December 31st.

I am also obsessed with my adorable new coffee mug I found at Target last night and am I the only person who likes to eat their cereal/ice cream out of a coffee mug? Either way you eat it I am a huge fan of Honey Nut Cheerios to start your day or for a mid-day pick me up. Next week I am going to make Henry's Favorite Chex Mix,  which includes them in it. Recipe to come.

Little healthy moments like these will make me feel better when I am on my third helping of turkey and dressing next week :)

On that note, I might need to do a little more dancing to this new Usher beat.... burn those calories baby!!

How do you start your day? Does anyone else try to be super healthy leading up to the Holidays so you can indulge?

* Thank you to Honey Nut Cheerios for sponsoring this post, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Weekend Update + Currrently Loving

We had a pretty uneventful weekend since we were house-sitting at the river for Henry's parents. We pretty much stayed in our comfy clothes, watched football and some movies, and I read my book. It was extremely relaxing!

A few pics of our laziness

I made cinnamon rolls Saturday morning and they were sinfully delicious. I haven't had them in so long and forgot how tasty they are.

Henry burned some stuff for his parents, Charlie supervised.

I made seven layer dip for the Alabama game, so easy. Quick and easy recipe coming Wednesday.

What I lived in all weekend, I am still obsessed with this blanket scarf. Sweater is American Eagle last season and super comfy.

Movie Recap :

This one we really enjoyed. Pretty interesting concept

TURRIBLE... I mean really bad guys. Charlize what were you thinking? Don't waste your time.

Currently Reading:

Shadow of Night - The second book in the Discovery of Witches Trilogy. I am still loving this series.

Currently Obsessed

Are ya'll watching this show? It has sucked me in. I wonder who died and what is going to happen next. If your not watching, turn it on.

Can't wait for

My favorite ladies are back tomorrow night and I can't wait. It looks like it is going to be such an entertaining season and I am so so glad they got rid of Carlton and "Yoce" haha Joyce. Can't wait to watch this train wreck. Speaking of train wrecks

Are y'all watching Pump Rules?

It's so bad y'all. I hate them all but I can't look away. I think that Stassi is dressing kind of old for her age or maybe it is her new haircut. I don't know, obviously this is not a pressing issue. Can't wait for the episode tonight, generally I just scream at them the whole time :)

That's all I have for today! What are you currently loving?

Happy Friday y'all! It is FREAKING FREEZING here, I mean it is cold! BRRR! We don't have much on tap this weekend, relaxing, doing a little shopping, and watching the Bama vs. Mississippi State game ( it's a big one). I really want to make this dip for the game tomorrow. It looks so yummy and I love anything that has pimento cheese in the title. Let me rephrase, I love anything with cheese it's a problem #thestruggleisreal. I feel like everywhere I turn there are great sales so what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't let you know. ;)

Best of the Season // Holiday Party Dresses

Happy Thursday y'all, it feels like the weeks since November started have flown by. Time slow down!

It might be a little early to talk Holiday dresses, but the good ones will be sold out before November is over, for real. The one I really love is running low on stock and I can't justify pulling the trigger, because we have no parties on the horizon. So if you have a fabulous event this season, I have rounded up my top ten Holiday dresses.

Shop now... no one wants to be left with the sad picked through dresses running around the day before a party with nothing to wear.. just saying :) We have all been there and it ain't pretty.

I'm OBSESSED with this dress. It is perfect and almost sold out. I am resigned that I will probably not get it but someone please buy it. I think it is perfect for the Holidays and a great party dress in general!

I love the brocade detailing of this dress and the richness of the fabric. It screams holidays to me.

The most gorgeous festive Christmas dress I ever did see.

I love the classic silhouette of this dress and the black cap sleeve. This look would get so much wear in my closet.

Anthropologie is killing it with their dress selection and in my opinion a little glitter is just what the doctor ordered during the holidays. Yes ladies, all that glitters is gold indeed.  I love the fact that their dresses are so different from anything else out there and I have always found the quality is fantastic.

Perfect little black dress with a little extra sparkle.

I am in love with the style of this dress and the stripes, it is so different! I need it in my closet, I think it would be great all year around!

Silver metallics are always a good idea. This would also be perfect to ring in the new year.

Classic, Elegant, and Timeless, this dress would last for years to come. I know this one would get so much use and be a closet staple. Also comes in navy, but I love the black.

I love this adorable dress and even though it is in the Nordstrom junior's section I still think it would be cute. It is also on sale for around $75. I am sure it is a little shorter since it is juniors, but with black tights I think it would be perfect for a Holiday party.

What are some of your favorite items to wear for the Holiday season?

Have a great Thursday and thank you so so much for reading!
