Halloween Meals - Spooky Mummies

When I saw this adorable recipe on Pinterest, I knew I was going to have to make it Halloween week. What better way to get in the spirit then with spookily adorable mummy hot dogs. Even though we don't have kids yet, I didn't see any reason why Henry and I couldn't enjoy these too. Although, they will make really cute snacks for little ones in the future. (CAN'T WAIT)

I talked about this recipe in my post Spooky Treats, there are some other really cute things to make in that post as well.  I would have loved to have them on sticks but could not find skewers anywhere at Target. Super easy to make and so tasty! A Halloween must!

//SPOOKY MUMMY HOTDOGS//

YOU NEED
1 roll Pillsbury Crescent rolls
1 pack of hotdogs (Your choice)

Preheat oven to 375

Cut your crescent rolls into strips and roll around your hotdogs

Place on baking sheet and spray lightly with cooking spray

Bake for 13-15 min or until light brown

Dot their eyes with mustard and enjoy

Girl Crush : Taylor Swift

I am OBSESSED. I know this album drop is not news to anyone that gets on the TV or internet but Taylor Swift seriously took it to another level. I am loving every single jam, especially Welcome to New York. It just makes me want to bee bop around town in my car singing at the top of my lungs ( AKA my 16 year old self). I have already made plans with friends and family to see this lady in concert. I'm going to rock my face off to her anthems.

I have said in the past I had my love-hate moments with T.Swift but I have to admit I have nothing but love for her now. She can do NO WRONG in my book. Girlfriend is on fire. She is smart, sassy, and knows what she wants. I think she is a great role-model for women and girls everywhere!

Thats all I got today!

Weekend Update // It's Halloween Week

This is Halloween, this is Halloween.. Halloween... Halloween.... Halloween WEEK!!!!

Hi Everyone, it's Halloween week, can you tell I am excited. We had such an amazing and jam-packed weekend in Birmingham celebrating one of my Besties getting married. Their wedding was just beautiful, she was such a gorgeous bride and the weather/venue could not have been more perfect. Rolling in the Hay played and they were awesome!

I also got to see one of my precious god-children on Saturday and spend lots of time with friends and family. My dad and his girlfriend came into town for the wedding and we had a delicious brunch on Sunday before we all left. I am exhausted today but it was totally worth it. Missing everyone already! This is the last wedding for us on the horizon and I feel sad/happy about it. Sad that I don't know when we will get together with all our friends again and happy to have a little more laid back schedule with less travel. The past year and a half has been so crazy busy.

Morning coffee Friday at my girlfriends gorgeous condo in Bham. Admiring her adorable Halloween friends. I need them.

Moscow Mules Friday night at Jackson's after the beautiful Rehearsal dinner at Vulcan in Bham. Gorgeous view of the city!

We did brunch Friday at Another Broken Egg and went into Table Matters. I wanted everything in that store. So gorgeous! If you live in Bham and haven't been it's a must.

Hung out with one of my bestie's and my precious god-son Charlie on Friday. He is so adorable!

Pre-wedding Bridal Brunch was a success and we had so much fun!

Our gifts from the bride. The most gorgeous golden leaf necklace made out of an actual leaf.

I had my first blow-out experience at Tonya Jones on Saturday before the wedding. Such a fun pampering experience. I so wish I could do my own hair that well but it may never happen.

Seeing all my girlfriends was so fun and I am always so sad when I have to leave them. Miss those ladies!

Brunch on Sunday at Dram with Dad and Suzanne was so delicious and I love the atmosphere there.

Top notch weekend guys!

Whats in my travel make-up bag?

It's Friday!!!! I had a short week and am currently in Birmingham to celebrate one of my besties getting hitched this weekend! It is going to be so much fun and I can't wait to see all of my favorite girlfriends. I have never done a "whats in my travel bag" post and thought now would be a great time since I am currently traveling. This is everything that I truly currently use when I travel, I literally dumped the bag out and took the pics this morning.

What are your travel essentials? I might do another post on the rest of the things I take when I travel and how I plan everything out. Let me know if you might want to see that. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, the weather is gorgeous!

//Travel Makeup Essentials

Urban Decay Naked Palette - The original is still my favorite

Estee Lauder Double Wear - Shade 2C1 Pure Beige - which might be a little dark right now but the coverage is fantastic and it lasts all day.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer - shade 027 sun dance - a well loved product. I need to repurchase soon.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Stick - shade malibu strip/pink sand bronzer- This is the best dupe for the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick I have found ( still not as good) but I love it. Perfect on your eyes or cheeks.

Nars Illuminator - shade super orgasm- I have used this illuminator on my cheekbones for years and I love it. The perfect amount of shimmer.

Loreal Magic Lumi Primer  - I mix this light infusing primer with my foundation for a sheer glow on my skin.

Ben Nye Banana Powder - shade 3D5 - I found this powder through one of my favorite bloggers Leslie on A Blonde Ambition and have been a fan ever since. You have to order it online, it is the perfect matte finish.

Loreal Visible Lift Blur Concealer - shade 302 light -  I am still deciding on this concealer and it's consistency but I do like the coverage for under-eye.

Maybelline Corrector Concealer - I only learned in my late 20s that you needed to use a green based concealer to cancel out redness.... makeup junkie fail? Yes. It works perfectly to cover up zits or red spots around your nose or chin.

Nyx Love in Rio  - shade Meet me at the Copa - The perfect neutral eye-shadow palette. I love Nyx, you can't beat the price and the colors are rich and pigmented.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush  - shade 50 plum wine - Loving this wine blush for Fall.

Maybelline Color Tattoo  - pure pigments in 55 barely brazen and 24 hr in 25 bad to the bronze - I am a huge fan of this range of products by Maybelline. I am obsessed with the loose eyeshadow and also the Bad to the Bronze is the perfect smoky eye for a more dramatic night time look.

Revlon Color Stay Eye Liner - Liquid Liner in 001 blackest black - I needed a new liquid liner for the weekend and this is one of my favorite no- fail drugstore versions.

Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner  - shade 212 rich brown - My everyday brown eyeliner.

Anastasia Brow Wiz - shade dark brown - My eyebrow pencil. This is my holy grail in eyebrows.

Maybelline The Falsies - shade very black - New mascara, I haven't tried it yet will let you know what I think.

Makeup Forever Smoky Extravagance  - sample black - This is new too but I plan on trying this mascara this weekend. It was my Bday sample from Sephora.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine - shade 54 boy - This was my wedding lipstick and I love it so much. It is the perfect nude pink.

Revlon Colorburst  - 016 Bordeaux - A wine lipgloss for Fall .

This does not include the makeup bag in my purse :) I might have a beauty problem.

Happy Weekend!!

Style Snap // Blake Lively Pregnancy Style

IMAGES VIA Pinterest and Google

Girl came back to the spotlight with a bang and she is working it! I already loved her, but her pregnancy style is just spot on. Of course she planned it all perfectly, and all the fab items she is wearing are sold on her site, Preserve. Very nicely done Blake. Savvy business move right there. I love it all but the prices are a bit ( a s*** pile) on the high side. They are going to have the most beautiful babies! What do y'all think? Love her style? Not so much?

Best of the Season: Spooky Treats

The best of the season is returning this week with one of my favorite things: food. Whether you are hosting a huge Halloween bash or a cozy dinner in with family passing out candy, watching spooky movies. There is something festive and tasty for everyone.

What an adorable dinner for kids or snack. I might make these for me and Henry, they look delicious!

The perfect snack mix. A great treat to send to the Halloween party or to give to friends in cute bags.

The perfect Halloween cake, it looks so delicious.

-- Sand Witches --

I think these are so cute to serve to friends and family before trick or treating or for a party.

I have made this one for a party before and it is delicious, you can't go wrong with a cheese ball.

These look so easy and delicious.

Chocolate and pretzels is always a win win.

My husband makes fun of my love of chili because he knows when the slightest chill hits the air we are having it... probably a ton. A chili bar is so fun to add lots of different toppings and let your guests make it just how they like it!

What are your favorite Holiday foods to serve for Halloween? I love making new traditions with Henry and implementing them year after year.

Book Review 006// A Discovery of Witches

PREMISE

Diana Bishop is a young historian and descendant of witches studying/writing about alchemy at Oxford. One night she is looking for a certain book for her research when she calls up a book from the library - Ashmole 782. Little does she know this book and the vampire geneticist she is about to meet Matthew Clairmont will change her life and set off a chain of events that will change their world forever. A world full of witches, vampires, and daemons. The past, present, and future.

I love love loved this book y'all! The perfect magical read, especially for  this time of year. The way she portrays witches, vampires, and all supernatural creatures is such a fun new historical spin. It is a series and I bought the second book last night. They are super cheap right now on amazon.  Read it, you will not be disappointed.

Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind

Happy Monday Loves! It feels like Fall here in Mobile and I am breaking out some old and new favorites. This look is pretty similar to most of my favorite Fall looks that will be in heavy rotation the next few months. A cute blouse, jeans, boots, and a nice cozy scarf. The scarf and jewelry are some new pieces from the Noonday Collection.  I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to try out some of their fab pieces. Another post featuring some gorgeous jewels coming soon.

If you haven't heard of Noonday check out their story here.  Every piece sold goes to help women that have been abandoned in Ethiopia, to create business opportunities for Ugandans, and empowers communities in Ecuador. It is rare to find such beautiful pieces with such amazing stories that go with them. I spent about an hour crying over the inspiring videos and stories on their website. Truly inspirational.

I seriously want every single piece of jewelry on their site. It is insanely gorgeous and for a good cause. A great place to do some Holiday shopping and give back at the same time.
This gorgeous scarf I am wearing is handwoven silk from India. I am in love with it.

Trend Alert: The Plaid Blanket Scarf and my Ebay Find

ALL IMAGES VIA PINTEREST

Scarves may just be one of my all time favorite accessories so when I noticed this trend all over the place I knew I would be jumping on the bandwagon. The Zara version that everyone is obsessed with was sold out and I knew I had to stay within a very limited budget on this purchase so what's a girl to do? I took to E-Bay one of my favorite shopping destinations for on-trend pieces on the cheap.

I was so excited when I found this seller and they have all different versions of my new favorite blanket scarf for.. wait for it $9.99. I should have ordered every color. I will let you know about the quality when it comes in but I had to share this bargain. I went with the first scarf on the left in the neurtral/red/green. It is going to be so cute for Christmas!!
