It's a new series..... ta da!!!!! What better way to bring in football season than with a weekly recipe of something tasty to bring to the weekend tailgate for whichever team you are routing for (ROLL TIDE)! I am going to be honest, I go to football games for the food, beer, and to hang out with friends. I am not a die hard football person much to my Crimson Tide loving husbands dismay.
Even in college , I liked to get dressed in my game-day dress and join in the festivities but I am not a huge get into the game kinda girl. I feel like this is something I need to work on to be a more well rounded southern lady :) plus if I end up with a bunch of football playing boys I want to know whats going on. I did go to Alabama and I am an Alabama fan y'all, I just might not be able to name a whole lot of the players ....don't kill me.
Anyways, I do LOVE a good tailgating food. Anything that comes in a dip or miniature size I want to eat it. So each week I am going to bring you my faves! I hope you enjoy!
My finished sausage balls
Cream Cheese Sausage Balls
1 LB sausage ( I used original but hot would be good too)
8 OZ Cream Cheese softened
1 1/4 cups Bisquick
4 OZ Shredded cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400F
Mix all ingredients until combined. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on baking sheets.
Bake 20-25 minutes or until brown.
I always makes sausage balls but I have never done them with cream cheese before. These are a game changer. They were so moist and my husband says they are his favorite I have made. I guarantee they will be a hit.
Happy cooking!
I love tailgate food! I cannot wait to see what other recipes you post. RTR!
