With Style and a Little Grace: September 2014

Weekend Update

Happy Tuesday Loves! This post is coming at you late because I had too much fun over my long weekend and have finally (semi) caught up on my lack of sleep. I seriously slept 11 hours last night. I was wiped.

We had such a fun weekend celebrating our friends. It was seriously one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to. We got to catch up with friends we never see so it was totally worth the fact that it is going to take me a week to recover and the fact that I might have caught a cold. ;) Tomorrow I am going to be doing a full post of all my faves from the first night of Mobile Fashion Week. Sorry all the pics are from my iphone!

Friday morning I dropped Henry off for golf and found myself a little breakfast place. The shrimp and grits were so delicious.

I like to read my kindle when I dine alone. Anyone else?

Cute little goodies from our treat bag!

Side view

Bridal party arriving to the reception by boat. Henry loved this!

My handsome date! The pool was the dance floor y'all! Craziness!

I had my Disney princess moment ( Belle from Beauty and the Beast) in the library at the wedding. Obsessed with a sliding ladder in a library. My ideal!

A little blurry of us, but you can see the bride's gorgeous house behind us.

Such a beautiful event!
On another note, today is my husband's Birthday!!! Happy Birthday Henry! The big 34! I love you more and more everyday! Can't wait to celebrate tonight!

Happy Weekend

It's Friday Friends! We are en route to a fun wedding weekend and I am looking forward to spending the weekend with Henry celebrating our friends! Last night, I went to the first night of Mobile Fashion Week - The Hair Show and it was so much fun. It was held at Atchison Home and everything in there was insanely gorgeous. My girlfriend Jamie and I had a blast and the hair was so good y'all! There was champagne and cupcakes, need I say more! Sad I won't be able to make the rest of the weekend, but I know it will be fabulous!

One of my favorites, very Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

Thank you so much for reading!

On my Radar

Just a fun little snippet of what is on my radar this last full week of September! Stay tuned tomorrow for my Best of the Season: Movie/Music edition. I am heading to Mobile Fashion Week tonight for the first show and I can't wait. Should be a great show!

Watching Serendipity on repeat

I totally forgot how much I love this movie. Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack yes please! The die hard romantic in me could watch it over and over. Such a perfect romantic comedy! Oh and Ari is in it.

I have a hair appointment next week and I am contemplating bangs .... like I said contemplating

Also Emma Stone is hands down my fashion idol right now. I just love everything she does.

Loving all the pics of LC's wedding! She was such a gorgeous bride. Her hair, I mean come on.

So excited about Scandal's premiere tonight and reminiscing with these fun Buzzfeed facts about the past season.

Also the weddings on instagram vs. weddings in real life made me laugh out loud.

Breaking out the GIF's y'all!!

What is on your Fall Bucket List?

Pumpkin Spice Lattes & Swing Dresses

It's officially Fall y'all! Since it is still in the high 80s and 90s around here, I am ringing the Fall in with dark color combos- grey, black, and deep purples. No layers yet for this girl, sadly. I do feel like it is cool enough for me to start consuming pumpkin spice lattes on the reg.... if I am being honest I will still buy them, sweat, and repeat my mantra that the season is upon us as I chug.

This ASOS dress is probably the best $37 dollars I have spent in a long time. I find myself reaching for it during the day with flats and dressed up for dinner out with Henry. I love the idea of it with scarves, tights, and boots too.  It has quickly become a closet staple.

Shoes - Zara ( last season ) loving these
Clutch - Forever 21 (OLD) love this one
Sunnies - RayBan Aviators
Necklace - ( Jewelry party, I have no clue what line)
Earrings - Target (OLD)

What are you most excited to do this Fall? I am compiling my annual list of things I want to do coming soon. On my way home from work last night they were putting up a pumpkin patch that I always pass and I swear y'all I almost jumped with joy. It's beginning to feel like my favorite time of year!!

Weekend Update

It's Monday and our weekend flew by so quickly. We were pretty lazy besides cooking out and watching the game with friends on Saturday. I am glad we didn't do too much because we are heading to a wedding this weekend and I know it is going to be such a fun and busy weekend. I took Friday off, since Henry is playing golf with the wedding party, so it is a short week for this lady! I am looking forward to our first trip out of town since July, and the Fall party season will officially be in full swing.

Charlie and I made our usual Friday commute to the river.

Henry and I finally got to try a new donut place near our house Sunday morning and they did not disappoint y'all. We will be going back! I mean how cute is the box?

We went with the dozen sampler of their top sellers. The maple-bacon was melt in your mouth. I also really liked the crullers.

Decided to break out my Fall Scentsy smells leftover from last season. Pumpkin roll is one of my all-time favorites.  It looks really festive in my Scentsy! I need to make a new Fall Scentsy purchase soon.

This is mainly what my weekend consisted of and it was wonderful. I am obsessed with my new book - A Discovery of Witches. I seriously can't put it down. I also finally got to read some new October mags. Seriously loving the cover of Garden & Gun this month. It made me want to make a batch of cheese straws.  I am also obsessed with the Burberry poncho on the cover of InStyle that has been on everyone fashionable recently, monogrammed with their initials. It is fantastic.

Casual Sunday OOTD - Wearing my cozy target heart tee and my favorite J.Crew chino shorts.

Clearly Sunday is laundry day. I decided to add my favorite skulls scarf I found last season and I can't wait to start wearing scarves again!

I have been wearing this perfume again and it is the perfect spicy scent to bring in a new season. Just a little heavier but not too strong for everyday wear.

Painted my nails with my first Fall mani of the season. In one of my favorite Essie shades from last season Essie Smokin Hot

What are some of your favorite nail colors for Fall?
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Weekend

Happy Weekend Friends! New video coming Monday! We are off to enjoy a lazy weekend. I plan on reading my new book, doing a little shopping with the hubs, and watching some football. Any tail-gate recipe suggestions? I am kind of loving this recipe. Um yummy!!

Next week all the Fall shows are going to start up. I am thinking about doing a post on my returning favorites and the new ones I will be DVRing. I am probably most excited about Scandal! Talk about a cliff-hanger! What about y'all?

Happy Weekending and Thank y'all for reading!

Product Review: Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

My Shade: 130 True Ivory

I am about to make a bold statement friends get ready for it....... this is my favorite drugstore foundation I have EVER used. I repeat EVER. I have to say this year Rimmel has slowly but surely become one of my favorite drugstore brands.

There are several makeup items that I always say are worth spending a little more money on for higher quality: foundation, concealer, eyeliner, and powder. Ok let me be honest I love all beauty products and would try all ends of the spectrum in search of the perfect one... I don't discriminate.

My Review of the Product:

This is the most blendable, easy to apply foundation. It goes on lightly and very smooth.  I find that by the end of the day it still looks great and doesn't feel caky or thick like some other ones I have tried. It is so long lasting and feels really light on my skin. I knew it was a winner when I found myself reaching for it over my fave Estee Lauder foundation. I now use that one for dressier events that I want a bit more coverage.

I am repurchasing it this week.  It is $5.99 and completely worth a try!

The Best of the Season: Fall Decor

This week the best of the season series is bringing you a round up of some of my favorites to bring Fall to life in your home.  I think seasonal decor is fun and by the end of summer I am always getting a little bored of what I have going on anyways.  Adding a few little things each season is a great way to get out of that slump and embrace that time of year.

My favorite stop for really cute and not cheesy ( because we all know there is a line) is going to be Pottery Barn. They have so many fab things and they will carry you all the way through Thanksgiving.

I love that these are mercury glass and a little dressier.

Everybody needs twinkle lights!

I really love these!!

PIER ONE has some cute stuff too!

Target is always on my list y'all!

I am in love with this pillow and I think the gold would be so cute through the winter. Throw pillows are always a great option to change things up for the season.

The perfect throw blanket to cuddle under on chilly nights from Serena and Lily

What are some of your favorite things to break out for the Fall Season? I love to change my home with the changing season, it really helps me embrace it.
