With Style and a Little Grace: February 2014

Black + Brown

Sometimes I think the combo of black and brown can look so pulled together. Add some black tights if it's a little chillier and you are good to go!

Happy Humpday! I am off work tomorrow so I am pretty excited about finishing up the Mardi Gras season strong with two back to back balls tonight and tomorrow.  I went to a Mardi Gras dress swap a few weeks ago ( best idea ever) and am so excited about wearing the dresses that I borrowed. I will try to do an outfit post on them next week.

As I have told y'all before I am on a budget and I am currently trying not to buy any new clothing items until May ( gifts don't count.... my new leather pants were from my sweet mama). We have some really fun trips coming up this summer ( Puerto Rico is calling my name) and we are trying to save for those as well as saving for a house. I have a closet full of clothes ( and nothing to wear) so it is not like I desperately need new clothing but I have a bit of a shopping addiction and I am always on the hunt for those classic staples every girl needs.... aren't we all! It's going to be a tough couple months :)

I can still show the good stuff to y'all though ;)

I have a major thing for white tops. I always pick them up in stores and I can tell you right now I would live in this Tibi ultra matte poplin top. It's adorable!

I am in love with my Rebecca Minkoff mini M.A.C. and I feel like this mini M.A.B. tote would be the perfect pop of color for spring/summer.

The cutest lux palm tree scallop shorts from TopShop I ever did see.

Another cute palm tree pattern from TopShop here

Frilly Faux Leather skirt from Zara. I regret not getting the adorable skort everyone wore last summer. I need one of their cute skirts before they sell out.

Actually I think I would wear this one from Zara all the time.

This skirt from F21 is the perfect basic for summertime. I need it in every color. It is $9.80. You can't beat that my friends.

How cute would this F21 blazer be over a white outfit with neutral accessories in the summer?

Don't forget about Shopbop's huge sale going on right now as well.

If I could shop the sale right now I would purchase this adorable dress. Perfect for summertime. I would also buy this wallet that I have wanted to add to my wardrobe forever. I would definitely be adding these booties that everyone says are fantastic to my cart and for sure my Karen Walker harvest sunglasses. Clearly it would be a shopping free for all!

Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Update

It's Monday y'all and I am so sad to see our long weekend go. It was such a good one. But I am looking forward to this week with two balls and another day off so not too shabby my friends. We started off our long weekend on Thursday night with my first ball as a Mardi Gras lady and it did not disappoint!

Friday, I think Henry and I had the most productive day ever. Seriously if you wanted stuff done you should have called us because we were powering through a to-do list like nobodys business. Saturday and Sunday were spend movie watching, cleaning, doing laundry, you name it. Good weekend my friends! I have some fun outfit posts coming up this week that I am excited about too!

Our first ball of the Mardi Gras season- Polka Dots

The best pic I could get of us all night.

Rocking a fun bauble necklace and my new favorite mossimo sweater for a day of errands on Friday.

The perfect Friday night catching up on magazines and some red wine

I was cleaning out things to take to my Junior League donation drive and I found this drink set. I kind of love it. It's very retro but I think it would be fun on our bar cart in the summertime? Obviously it was covered in dust in this picture. I will clean it and set it up and see if I still like it. Am I crazy?

My flowers still looking gorgeous from Valentines day.  I have moved them all around the house to enjoy.

Loving my new Valentines tee from Target I got myself as a Valentines day happy. The perfect sleep tee. Similar version here

Saturday we ate at The Dew Drop and it was as delicious as always! The best hamburgers and hotdogs. If you live in or around Mobile and haven't eaten here you have to go! Such a Mobile staple.

Downsized my flowers on Sunday to hopefully enjoy them a few more days. They make me so happy!

Sneak peek at some fun outfits coming this week!

Happy Monday y'all!

Brand I am loving: Serena and Lily

I have noticed Serena and Lily featured on several of my favorite blogs. Since I am currently dreaming about moving and all the ways I want to style our first home I have been scouring their website. All the items are such classics and I could see them in my home as staples. Things that I would love for years to come.

Just a few of my favorites.

Whitewashed teak ladder - I am obsessed with these and think it would be fabulous in several different rooms

Laguna seagrass baskets - The perfect catch- alls.

Sullivan mirror - The perfect mirror for my bedroom or entryway

Custom Hayes glider - The perfect glider for our future nursery.

Pom-pom throw - The cutest throw I ever did see.

Pacific side chair - The perfect side chair for my dining room table.

Essex ottoman - In love with this for my living room. The perfect amount of form and function.

Confessional Friday

Happy Friday party people! I am linking up with A Blonde Ambition today for a fun confessional friday! Here are my confessions :)

1. I confess that I ate Valentines day candy every day this week. I ate all of mine and almost all of my husbands as well.... can't have chocolate in this house.

2. I confess that I might be an instagram addict. The amount that I check it is a little bit out of control.

3. I confess that sometimes I save my pretty little liars episodes for Friday nights because it's my favorite show right now.... jumping Friday nights around here :)

4. I confess that I also love to catch up on my you-tube videos over my weekends as well.... there is something so relaxing about it.

5. I confess that I have the worst roots right now. I am in such desperate need for a haircut it is awful. I want to donate my hair so I know that when I do the cut it is going to be a big one.... hard to bite the bullet.

6.  I confess that my shopping hiatus is getting really hard and I might be addicted to shopping. It makes me so happy.... out of control.

Happy Weekending!

Getting to know me

Hi y'all! I decided since we have a few new faces around the blog I would do a little post to introduce myself to everyone.  So a little background on me :)

Hi friends I am Gracie, the founder of this little blog. I'm a 28 year old newlywed. I started my blog the summer of 2012 a few months after my husband and I got engaged. I was just learning about the world of blogging and there were several blogs that I was enjoying so much that I thought it would be a great time to start my own.

What better way to document our trip down the aisle and be able to look back at all the fun times later. Little did I know it would become one of my favorite things to do and really bring me back to my creative roots. It is my little slice of the internet to document all the things that I love!

I am married to my favorite person in the whole wide world Henry "Hank". We got married in June 2013, can't believe it has already been 8 months, still newlyweds :) . We live in Mobile, Alabama.

We have one fur-baby Charlie "monster" He just turned 3 years old in January and we spoil him completely rotten

Isn't he handsome?

I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2009 with a bachelors degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in english. Henry coaches freshman football and is finishing up school at the University of South Alabama here in Mobile.

I grew up in the tiny little town of Athens, Alabama which is in the northern part of the state. We were a dry county until I was 18 and we had a drive-in movie theatre. It was a really wonderful place to grow up. You could walk everywhere and everyone knew you and your family. From my house I could walk to my elementary, middle, and high school.

My sweet mama

My dad and my little brother Jack

I love my sweet family and don't get to see them that often because they all live about 5 or more hours away. I am hoping eventually they will all retire to the beach once Henry and I start popping out babies. ;)

I met Henry my freshman year at Alabama and for the next 4 years we kept running into each other through all of our mutual friends. We started dating my last year at Alabama and were inseperable after that. We have been together nearly 6 years now and I am so beyond blessed to have him in my life. He is one of the most loyal and caring people I know. I have met my match and I look forward to spending our lives together.

This blog is a mix of fashion, lifestyle, food, interior design, and beauty. All the things that interest me.  I hope to add new things everyday and just keep growing.
Thanks for stopping by,

TV shows I am loving right now

I am about to start the second book in the Divergent series so I am a little behind on my book reading right now but I have seriously caught up on my shows. These are my favorites right now. Are there any I need to add to my faves?

PLL also known as Pretty Little Liars. It's getting super intense. Did y'all watch last night?

Vanderpump Rules - The terribleness is so GOOD! I mean these are the worst people ever and I freaking can't stop watching them. The season is over and t if they don't get Stassi back on I probably won't be watching again, she makes the show!

Downton Abbey - This show just get's better and better. I am OBSESSED with Mary and the fabulous Dowager Countess!

The Vampire Diaries - I do have to say that I do not like that Katherine has taken over Elena. We need to rectify that sitch ASAP!

I am also loving but there have been no new episodes right now: The Goldbergs, Scandal, Revenge, Modern Family, How I met your mother, Big Bang theory.

Getting a little bored with : Reign and Nashville Also really excited for the Real Housewives of New York... those ladies are seriously entertaining

On my radar:
Star crossed is in my DVR. I feel like this was a book series? Was it? Anyone watched it yet?

Seriously anything you think a pre-teen would watch send it my way.
Don't even get me started on my love for ABC Family!
