With Style and a Little Grace: January 2013

Daily Beauty Routine

Hi Lady loves! Hope your Thursday is going smoothly as we are t-minus two days to the weekend!  Trying to combat this harsh winter weather has done a number on my skin - who am I kidding I live in Mobile, Alabama.... but 40 is cold here.. we are southerners don't judge. So I thought today I would put together my daily/nightly skin beauty regimen that has been helping me keep my skin a little less dry.

To get my makeup off at night or during the day I use Olay wet cleansing cloths. These are my absolute favorite to wipe off the day. I highly recommend.

I have been using Aveeno Positively Radiant facewash for about a month now and I am loving the way my skin feels after. It also adds brightness to my skin tone in the morning.

Once a month I usually use  St. Ives Clear Apricot Scrub on my face and body. I have upped that to once every two weeks because it really helps keep my skin soft and not as dry.

For a daily moisturizer I use Aveeno ultra calming. You really can't go wrong with Aveeno products and I have found recently that they are great quality. It keeps my skin soft and not too greasy.

At night I use Olay Age Defying night cream. I have been using this cream for almost two years and I love the way it instantly hydrates my skin. I don't see that much of a result on fine lines so I am looking for something a little stronger if anyone has any suggestions.

I also started using Ambi Fade Cream for some dark spots on my face. It has really helped to lighten them up. I also use it on any scars. I have seen a huge difference.

Once or twice a month I use Queen Helene Mint Julep mask. I have been using this mask since middle school. It is my favorite mask and really softens your skin and helps with blackheads.

A new item I have added to my regimen is Vaseline cocoa butter I like the smell of the cocoa butter better than original. I have been coating this over my night lotion. Now I probably would not recommend this if you break out easily or have sensitive skin. But I have noticed a huge difference in the feel of my skin.

And that is that
As you can see I love trying out different products!

Honeymoon Destinations

Its Humpday! Shake it till ya make it chickies! I don't know about y'all but my week is flying by. On the Honeymoon front Henry and I are two of the most indecisive people ever. He has put me in charge of picking three different locales and presenting them to him in a nice little presentation.... flow charts anyone?? We shall then pick where we are going on Honeymoon. Here is a hodge podge of places that I am looking into.

1. Turks and Caicos
Windsong Resort

Grace Bay Cabanas

2. St. Lucia
Sandals Le Toc Golf and spa Resort
Cap Maison Resort & Spa
Jade Mountain Resort (out of price range I think)

St. Lucia

3. Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Rosewood Mayakoba

Rosewood Mayakoba

Just some ideas!
Seriously would love to hear any good places that are great prices as well

Case of the Mondays and random goings on

I am back to work today and very very jealous of all the people that have today off. I have been feeling a little blah lately and I just can't seem to shake it. I don't know if its because I feel overwhelmed with everything going on, but I have been a bad blogger lately and not the most fun person to be around in general! So I am sorry to all who have encountered my grumpy short temper ( thought it was my lady time but its really not fair to blame that for the whole last two weeks) and I am really working on it! :) Mostly to Henry and my mom.. love you guys!! So on to current happenings.

I am currently obsessed with Girls. Is everyone loving the new season?? These old gifs describe how I have been feeling currently!

Did anyone else catch the premiere of K&K take miami last night? Same ole same ole though I still watch it. Kim is still married blah blah blah and the fact that she lost that cat after having it for 2.5 milliseconds does not bode well for her unborn child.... just saying.

Poor Penelope still doesn't look very excited to be in this family either

Currently I have been getting back on the workout program and no better way than to watch all the skinnies on E.

Running in my new pumped up kicks and new workout pants Hank got me for Christmas!

Did a walk through at the Bragg Mitchell on Friday and got so excited that our wedding is less than 5 months away!

anywhoodle Happy Monday!

Currently Craving..

The minute New Years is over every year I am ready for Spring. I know I swore this year I would not wish the days away but how can I help it when everywhere I look on my computer, in my mailbox my senses are overwhelmed with bright vivid colors for Spring. And with this week being a particularly rainy, foggy, nasty one I can't help drifting to the colors ahead.

This Joie top is perfect for everyday with shorts or jeans.

I adore this ladylike Nanette Lepore dress for any upcoming Wedding festivites.

Or this Calvin Klein number

Perhaps paired with a pop of color in this Rebecca Minkoff bag

I need this gorgeous Kendra Scott bauble in my life PRONTO

I was also pleasantly surprised to find the next three adorable tops for under $20 here at the new arrivals section on F21. There is some really cute trendy stuff there if you want the trend without spending too much!!

Super cute
I am def craving but I still haven't broken my no frivolous spending in January yet!!

Golden Globes Fashion Favorites

Hi Ladies, Hope everyone had a great weekend! I did a lot of relaxing/ doing my guest list (which, in my opinion is the hardest part of planning a wedding), got back on the work-out train, and watched the globes! I thought it was a great start to awards season, which is one of my favorites and I think people really turned it out. I don't think there were as many fashion mistakes as usual.... anyone else feel that way? My top favorites

I thought Jennifer Garner looked Ahmazing and she and Ben were so adorable all night!

She for real had a baby a month ago..... how is that even legal?? She legit looks so much like one of my best girlfriends its crazy ( shout out fritt )! She is adorable and seems so blissfully happy right now. Good for you Claire!!

JLaw looks amazing and she kept saying all night that she has the flu. I'm not looking this great when infected with the flu I can tell you that much! I like her and can't wait to watch Silver Linings playbook.

I heart Amanda Seyfried and love this neutral sheer look on her.

Amy Adams looked very ballerina esque. Its so soft and feminine.

Classic & sophisticated

I thought Kate Hudson looked GORGEOUS. I don't know how I feel about the neckline on this dress but part of me LOVES IT.

Cutest couple of the night goes to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. They are ADORABLE!!

What were some of your favorite looks?

Currently Happening

Currently I have been fighting getting sick, which apparently everyone and their brother is right now. I am looking forward to a weekend of catching up on several movies that I still have not seen, and finally purging my house and closet for a good New Years cleaning!!

In other randomness:

I can't believe they are having a baby..... scary.. I will still watch the show... I know its sad I can't help myself don't judge me!

I'm officially OBSESSED with  Homeland. It is so good y'all.  If you have not seen it I recommend watching both seasons ASAP. You will LOVE IT!

I also recently found this gem that Mike from Homeland was in Mean Girls hehe!! LOVE IT!! Love me some Amy Poehler too!!

Now that I have sadly finished both seasons of  Homeland I am moving on to Downton Abbey! I have heard is is amazing and that the costumes are to die for ( direct quote from my mother) !

I am kind of boring today since I am fighting the bubonic plague lady loves! Happy weekending! Back with lots of fun next week! So I will leave you with some gifs currently making me smile!
