With Style and a Little Grace: November 2012

100th Post Five on Friday

Today is my 100th post!!! Hooray! I started this blog to keep up with our trip to the alter and because I wanted to start fulfilling a list that I made for myself of things to accomplish. I can sometimes get distracted and leave projects stranded here and there halfway finished. I made a new goal for myself last January to start seeing things through and I am proud to say that even though some of the things are small I am seeing them from start to finish :)  I know that I do not have many readers ( if any) so to those of you that are reading ( please don't stop). Happy Friday Ladies! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

5 things currently brightening my week.

Fresh fruit from a very sweet patient. Might put it in with my mulling spices this weekend to make my house smell amazing!

New Williams-Sonoma cookbook that I can't wait to try out. These recipes look delicious and super easy!

Rain Delay

Sadly my engagement pictures were delayed today due to rain! They have been put on hold for about a week. Although I am sad that they were postponed I must say it does help me to get a few things together before them, since I was so busy during the holidays! Mainly I would like to get rid of the bloated feeling, assemble some outfits, and maybe get my nails done! So not the worst thing to happen but it does put us on a time crunch to get out our Save the Dates!

On another note maybe this adorable top I ordered will make it in time for the pics!

Obsessed!!

Entertainment news: I watched Liz and Dick today and it was just as terrible as everyone said it was but the gifs alone are HILARIOUS! I would totally watch it again! hehe I'm such a sucker

And drum roll please ...... Girl meets World is in the works for Disney channel! I know I am a huge nerd and it makes me feel super old that they will now be the parents on the show but I'm kinda super excited!!

I could watch these all day!!

In blog news, I am going to return to normal posting with better content this week and on into the holiday season! I swear! Bear with me!

Thanksgiving

I'm back ladies. Please excuse my absence because I was really trying to pack the festive fun in full force during the turkey day break! I had such a wonderful time with my family and friends the entire holiday!

Tuesday night I made white chocolate covered pretzels for Henry and my work family. This was my first attempt and they actually turned out quite delicious. It is a little hard to get them fully covered.

Wednesday I worked half a day and then I was off to enjoy the time with my mom who came in to town for the holiday. We did a little shopping and stopped to look at some veils at a great bridal boutique in Mobile called Something New. We had a late lunch and then home to do some cooking!

I decided on the apple pie recipe for my dessert and oh my goodness ya'll it was delicious! I am also very proud of how it looked when it was finished. My best pie to date!!

My mom helped me with this part! So festive!!

My handsome boys watching the Thanksgiving day parade!

Our attempt at Thanksgiving pictures. Practice round for engagement pics. Henry was really excited!

Friday Henry and I said goodbye to all the family and headed to Tuscaloosa to spend the weekend celebrating my best friends engagement and watching the tide literally stomp Auburn. It was such a wonderful weekend spent with friends. Friday night we headed home early from the party and had Hank's favorite food in Tuscaloosa Taco Casa! Needless to say I am on a cleanse this week from all the food!

Watching the tide roll!

Such a fun time in Tuscaloosa!

Sunday we headed to our hunting camp for my first day of hunting........

Then this happened..... haha I actually had a really great time! I will probably be going back plus Henry got me the boots on black friday :)!

As you can see things have been a little crazy around here but in a great way! I will finally have some downtime this weekend and plan on finishing up our Christmas decorations. We have engagement pictures tomorrow but It is looking like they are getting rained out! Do a rain dance for me!!

Happy Monday

Excuse my absence

Excuse my absence from blogging! I have been enjoying lots of festivities to start the season off right with family and friends! I am back tonight with a recap of our Thanksgiving break! We are taking engagement pics tomorrow as well as long as the rain holds off (fingers crossed)

Gracie

Weekend Update + Turkey Day Menu

Hi Friends, I must confess I am enchanted by the holidays. It starts right before Thanksgiving and it doesn't end until we ring in the New Year. The festiveness just warms my heart and I go full force to enjoy every little thing about the them.

This year my mom is coming in town and we are combining our Thanksgiving  with Henry's family for the first time. I could not be more thrilled to start new traditions and this time next year we will be married!!!! SQUEAL. My mom is bringing some of our family foods plus I am making dessert! It should be so much fun! As of noon on Wednesday, I am off to enjoy my Thanksgiving holiday which includes: family time, black Friday madness, my best friends engagement party, and the iron bowl ( lots of cider and cocoa breaks in between).  So looking forward to the vacation! Here is a little hodge podge of last weekend + the weekend before + Some Turkey day treats that might make my menu!

On Friday we went downtown to Bienville square to watch the tree lighting. It is always fun with food, music, and even a petting zoo. Definitely a great way to get you in the holiday spirit.

Charlie decided to make himself right at home on our bed Friday and I didn't have the heart to wake him because he looked so sweet!

Spent more time downtown on Saturday with friends eating at our favorite lunch spot T.P Crockmeyers that just reopened ( if you live in the Mobile area you should go the food is awesome), checked out some music, and got some peanuts to feed the squirrels.

Festive treats in the window display

All the peanuts and candy looked delicious!

The squirrels in downtown Mobile are the most well fed, fat squirrels I have ever seen. If I were a squirrel this is where I would live. There were at least 10 people feeding them while we were out there! They will literally come right up to you!

Festive napkins from Target  + my new favorite k cups!

Our adorable coozies from the Bachelorette party two weekends ago. I still have not gotten to read 50 shades of grey so I still have no clue what it means.

Had so much fun with these ladies and can't wait to do it again soon!!

Happy Monday

TGIF

It's Friday gals! I am ready for a weekend of resting and low-key hanging out with friends! I plan on going to a tree lighting ceremony, hitting up a new lunch spot with friends, seeing the last installment of the Twilight franchise ( my inner 12 year old girl is squealing), and grilling out while watching football!  I am also getting my hair cut and colored today and seriously CAN'T Wait! Here is some verbal randomness below:

Miranda Kerr can do no wrong! I wish I looked like this while out and about!

These assless chaps are terrible!

Need I say more! I think he and his wife are such a cute couple!

Jelena is dead! I am not sure why I care about this one! She is too cute and needs to find someone ummm that's not Justin Beiber!

Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber

Went to Target to check at the Nate Berkus collection and was pleasantly surprised. Went home with this tray in brown and it is now cozy on my coffee table!

Round Lacquer Tray 15"dia x 1.7" Cream

Might have purchased a cute Christmas mat too. And I might be considering a few holiday cds!! So I know this week has been super random but I will be back on track Monday! Please bear with me..... the few people ( if any ) that read!

Have a Great Weekend!

Get in my closet!

I am on a mission ladies! I have recently been trying to add only nice staples to my wardrobe - things that I know will never go out of style. I like to think I lean mostly towards classic statements! Style icons would be Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn. But I will say I have been known to get sucked into some trends and need to learn where to save versus where to splurge. That being said our engagement pictures are in two weeks and the search has been on for a dressy and casual ensemble. Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

These new pieces are currently making their way to my doorstep:

These adorable pixie pants from JCrew. I have been on the hunt for good tight black pants to wear with my boots!

This sweater encompasses my love for bows and the color of the season!

These items need to make their way into my closet and some of them might be making it to my Christmas list this year!
