With Style and a Little Grace: 2012

Goodbye 2012 Hello 2013

New Year's Eve. A time for champagne, glitter, and resolutions. I hope all you ladies are in your finest tipping your glasses with your love and friends, while listening to auld lang syne!

As I looked back on 2012, I couldn't help getting a little nostalgic. I got engaged this year, began planning my life with the love of my life -doesn't get any better than that, started this little blog (still not too big but I have kept up with it which is huge for me), finally lost all of my college weight, started a new job, Charlie turned a year old, watched several wonderful friends get married and had several get engaged, went on my first hunting trip, discovered Instagram, baked lots of new Pinterest treats and ran my first 5K.

2012 has been wonderful to me and I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store! I am going to continue my goals into 2013 because i find when I write things out here I make them reality.

When the weather outside is frightful plus my confessions

Well today did not start out on the fun side... I was awakened this morning at 4 am to my weather service alarm and have not gotten to go back to sleep since! Twisters in Mobile guys..... I don't I repeat DON'T like the twisters!! Thankfully we are ok... lacking sleep but still ok! I can't wait until tomorrow and I have some time to get all my Christmas gifts wrapped, go to Holiday parties, and just enjoy Christmas. Thought I would confess to y'all some things going on around here.

Here are my confessions:

That ever since we took our engagement pictures I have been on a food spiral of shame eating all Holiday/fattening food in my wake. I can't stop... I need help!!

That my DVR is so backed up because every night I come home and watch whatever Christmas movie is on ABC family until I fall asleep.

I have started having dreams about my wedding and I get there on that day and things aren't finished and I freak out :)

I haven't been to the gym in a week

My house is a huge mess and there is dog hair everywhere ( I didn't even make my bed today.... if you know me this is a big deal)

I ate 5 ritz peanut butter crackers dipped in chocolate yesterday.....

I have to finish all my Holiday shopping this weekend and this is what it is going to be like.

Wedding Wednesday ( Our Engagement pictures)

Happy Hump day! Only 2 more days until time to sit back, watch some Christmas movies, sip some eggnog and cider, and enjoy the ones we love. Our engagement pictures are finished and I could not be more pleased with how they turned out! Aimee Reynolds is our photographer and I adore her! She captured everything that I wanted it to be and more! Thank you a million times to her!!!  Now all I have to do is decide which ones to use for our Save the Dates!
Hope you ladies like them!!

Gift Guide - For the Manly Man in your life

Hi Ladies, It is officially 7 days until Christmas! I don't know about y'all but I am doing a Holiday dash to finish up my shopping. I try to get ahead of the game every year and each time I always end up with a little bit of running around ( honestly, I kind of enjoy the last minute shopping and prepping it gets me into the spirit albeit a bit crazy). Thought I would add another gift guide in here. All the blogs I love always do such cute gift guides for the man in your life but if your man is like mine he is not quite as metro as some of those gifts. My guy is more into hunting/camping/fishing than the fancy booze/cute j crew pullovers/bar tools being featured. So here is a little guide for all those outdoorsy men:

Mens Duck Boots - Stylish but great for stomping around at the hunting camp

Firepit/grill would be great for those cold nights at the hunting camp!

Mountain Khakis- You can't go wrong with these. My guy lives in them and they look cute too!

Merrells - I'm not too keen on Hanks old Merrells but I could get behind this cute new version.

Black & Decker screwdriver - So there are no excuses about doing things around the house ;)

Field & Stream - Subscription to one of their favorite mags

Field & Stream (1-year auto-renewal)

Barbour jacket - These are a little pricier but he will wear it for a lifetime and it will never go out of style!

Barbour® Border Jacket

Harris Tweed Inclement Vest - I love my guy in a vest!

Harris Tweed™ Inclement Vest

Safari Hat - Love this hat

Genuine Suede Safari Hat

Non iron mens tartan shirt ORVIS  - Non iron is the best

Wrinkle-Free Pure Cotton Pinpoint Oxford Tartans

Santa Baby ( My Christmas Wish List )

Hi Ladies, Hope this post finds everyone well this lovely Wednesday! Sorry I have been a little MIA recently. I don't know about y'all, but when it gets to Holiday season I feel like time seems to run out much faster than usual! I may or may not have had a minor melt down after a weekend in my hometown trying to cram so much (wedding +holiday) into basically 24 hours there 5 1/2 hour drive back to Mobile cue the crocodile tears.

I decided I need to slow down, put some things on the back burner and just enjoy the holidays! So I  thought I might get out a little Holiday wish list of my own ( tis the season no?)  I am heading to Virginia tomorrow to do some Holiday celebrating plus celebrate my Dad's 60th Birthday! Should be lots of fun ( relaxing, eating, reading type of fun). On a side note, we did our engagement pictures yesterday and I am so excited to see how they turned out. Y'all will be the first to know!
